Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
Overview
DomainLens is a domain intelligence scanning application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Data We Collect
DomainLens does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
- All scans are performed locally on your device.
- Domain queries are sent directly from your device to free, public APIs (e.g., DNS resolvers, crt.sh, NVD, WHOIS services).
- No data passes through our servers — we do not operate backend servers for the app.
- No analytics, telemetry, or tracking SDKs are included in the app.
- No account creation or login is required.
Third-Party Services
When you scan a domain, the app makes direct API calls to the following public services:
- DNS resolvers — for DNS record lookups (A, AAAA, MX, NS, TXT, SOA, CNAME, CAA)
- crt.sh — for certificate transparency log queries
- NVD (National Vulnerability Database) — for CVE lookups
- WHOIS services — for domain registration data
- DNSBL services — for blacklist checks
These services have their own privacy policies. We do not control how they handle the queries you send. The only data transmitted is the domain name you choose to scan.
Data Storage
- Scan results exist only in memory during your session and are discarded when you close the app.
- Exported reports (JSON, CSV, Markdown, HTML, Plain Text, AI Prompt) are saved locally on your device by your explicit action.
- Theme preferences are stored locally on your device.
Children's Privacy
DomainLens is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
Microsoft Store
DomainLens is distributed via the Microsoft Store. Microsoft may collect data related to app installation and updates as described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
